OPTOMAP RETINAL EXAM
The Optomap® is a comprehensive method of evaluating and monitoring various eye conditions. This latest medical technology assists our doctor in viewing the retina to detect early signs of eye disease as well as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and cancer. This allows our doctor to determine the best course of action.
The Optomap® retinal exam, it takes a high-resolution image of the retina to check for early detection of damage or signs of disease, like diabetic retinopathy, damages of the tiny blood vessels, glaucoma, damage to the optic nerve. melanoma, retinal detachments, anyone can experience a retinal detachment, age-related macular degeneration, and other eye conditions.
We charge an additional fee of $10.00 per patient for the Optomap® Retinal Exam with your Vision Insurance to perform this scan. Regular price without insurance as an office visit is $55.00 For more information about this procedure you can visit Optos® at: Protect Your Vision - optomap
In addition, retinal screening is being offered through Vision Service Plan for members as a "value-added" feature to complement their Well Vision Exam benefit. These members will be eligible every 12 months. The retinal screening charge will be $39.00 for each routine retinal screening. For some VSP patients, the retinal screening may be a "covered" benefit. Please ask us to check for coverage and/or applicable copayments.
